Scars can be a result of various injuries to your skin. They occur during the natural healing process of these injuries.
A scar can be caused due to surgical incision, burning, or even acne. During a surgery, your skin layers are cut and then a new skin is formed to close the wound which heals this injury. Same thing happens recovers a burn injury.
Your body creates a new skin through formation of new collagen fibers and fibrous tissue which replaces the normal skin over the burned skin area, or acne affected area. The newly formed skin differs from the previous skin over and around this area in terms of texture and color, which is known as a scar. The size of this scar will depend on the size and depth of the injury.
