Caution

The research on this herbal juice is in its nascent stage and so it is very unlikely that the doctors may support use of noni juice as a first line of treatment for common ailments. Most of the benefits of this juice that are documented are based on customer feedback. Also, it is advised that people who have a history of kidney problems should stay away from this juice as its potassium levels are alarmingly high. The kidneys maintain normal potassium levels in blood. They do this by filtering surplus potassium, which is then eventually eliminated in the form of urine. However, with kidneys not functioning properly, too much potassium is likely to accumulate in blood, resulting in hyperkalemia.

Also, too much intake of this juice daily is not advisable as suggested in few reports. There have been cases, where in people have developed liver problems by drinking high amounts of noni juice. Excess consumption of this juice can be harmful, as it can cause herbal toxicity, which may lead to hepatitis. So, it is advised that people who have earlier suffered from liver diseases should not drink this juice.

How Much to Consume?
It is advised to drink this juice in small amounts (not more than 30 ml daily) to keep its harmful effects at bay. Most importantly, one has to first talk to a doctor before adding this juice to the diet. As benefits of the juice are not backed by substantial evidence, it would be wrong to drink the juice without consulting a well qualified doctor.
